Carnival Spirit Class Ship - Large Ship Category

A personal note about the Carnival Spirit Class of Ship.... This is by far my favorite Carnival Ships. They are categorized as a large ship; however, not a mega-ship, which to me give you most of the amenities as the larger ships with less crowds to deal with and less stairs to climb.
With the new 2,124-passenger Spirit class of ships (Carnival Legend, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Pride and Carnival Spirit), Carnival introduces new features, including a wedding chapel and supper club located high in a portion of the funnel. These ships have so many balcony cabins -- 80% of all outside cabins -- that Carnival Spirit's exterior resembles a Mediterranean-style apartment building more than a cruise ship. On these new 88,500-ton ships, Carnival's master architect/designer Joe Farcus interprets the Carnival "Fun Ship" motto as a high-energy, "let's party, dance and gamble until dawn" experience. On Carnival's ships, the slot machines are operational at 8 a.m. while the library is open one hour per day. These are ships for people who want to be energized, not imbibing champagne and caviar in an elegant setting. If this is your idea of fun, grab a cabin on aboard one of these new ships.
